Six child-free days in Barcelona, I can't wait! After much ummming and ahhhing over hotels, we decided to go for a personal recommendation from my Mum - she stayed here 2 years ago so hopefully it is still as nice as she remembers! Hotel Soho...perhaps not the greatest name (!) but my Mum assures me it wasn't at all seedy!! It met lots of our requirements anyway. Small pool on the rooftop...
with nice terrace to (hopefully!) relax in the sun when we're not out seeing the sights...
Good location - Mum says it's a 10-15 minute walk into town, so close enough without being so close that it's too noisy to sleep.

And breakfast included...
although I'm looking forward to trying out lots of cafes and restaurants too!
Anyway, for a lovely honeymoon, I will obviously (!) need lots of lovely clothes! Currently most of my clothes are awful - either too big, too small, or completely shapeless from being over worn and stretched when they didn't really fit!
I have been trying to lose weight for quite some time now. My initial aim is 10 stone, and I got close before Christmas - getting down to 10st 3.6lbs at the end of November. However I went a bit food-mad in December and my weight has failed to go down since! As of this morning I am 10st 11.4lbs, so 11.4lbs to lose to get to my main goal.
Luckily for me, my Mum has decided to provide a boost to my motivation. She is running in the London Marathon on the 17th April and the week after that she has quite a lot of free-time as my little sister is on holiday, so she has suggested we go shopping for honeymoon clothes! Bless her, she has decided to "sponsor" my weight loss.
So the shopping trip will be approximately 8 weeks from now. Mum has generously said she will sponsor me for each pound I lose, plus a bonus amount if I reach the ever elusive 10 stone! She has made a proviso that she wants me to buy "decent" clothes, so 4 or 5 long-lasting garments rather than lots of cheap items...no complaints here!
How exciting! Very appreciative to her for the potential money, and the motivation to get my weight loss back on track...I need to lose about 1.5lbs a week to get to 10 stone by then, hopefully manageable if I don't cheat!
I'm hoping my meals won't change too much, however I put today's planned meals into the weight loss site I use, and after breakfast, lunch and dinner I only have 50 calories leftover for the day...so I imagine snacks and lattes will be more limited unless I find time to start exercising more again!
And apart from this post, I will try to avoid going on too much about weight loss and calorie counting...good quality food is still my main interest and much more interesting to talk about! :)
