It's raining, it's pouring, it's time for porridge...

The weather is horrible here today!

I had made up a jug of coffee last night to have as iced coffee throughout the day, but one look out of the window and I realised hot coffee was needed!

It's just typical that the first day in ages that I felt like exercising, the weather is like this! I'd only been planning to go to the gym, but it's a 10-15 minute walk away...I'd have got absolutely drenched!! I've decided to go this afternoon instead as my sister is over visiting my Mum, so she can look after the children while my Mum gives me a lift to the gym. Plan.

Postponing my gym visit meant I had time to have porridge this morning as well, yum. I haven't had porridge in ages...so long in fact that I used too much milk and forgot to mash a banana into it! Still delicious though - oats cooked with milk, tinned peaches, cinnamon and a little agave nectar, topped with peanut butter...

As you can see, baby liked the look of it too!

I gave him a few mouthfuls to keep him happy - he'd already had a waffle and a bowl of cereal this morning as well as a bottle of milk, but he always wants to try whatever food anyone else is having!

So good. Due to the children demanding my attention (as usual!!), I didn't actually end up eating until at least 5 minutes after I'd taken these photos, which turned out to be a good thing as the oats absorbed more of the milk. Warm and comforting, just what was needed this morning!

I do love porridge, but at this time of year I'd like the weather to go back to being hot so I can have smoothies for breakfast instead! I'm getting really worried now actually - I so hope the weather isn't like this in 3 weeks for our wedding! We do have the option of having the whole day inside, but we're hoping to have drinks, nibbles and photos outside between the ceremony and the evening reception...whilst there is space to have it all inside, it'll be much nicer if it's sunny! I know there's nothing I can do about it though, just have to hope for the best and at least we do have a back-up plan...no point adding yet another thing to my "worry" list when the weather is something that's completely out of my control!

Hope you're all managing to stay dry wherever you are! So much for it being June...what happened to summer??!!

  2. The weather today makes me sad, I got caught out with no tights and only a cardi on. Hopefully we've had the bit of rain that we needed and now we can have more sun!

  3. Yep, looks like that here too! Supposed to be nice on Tuesdau though, briefly :-)
And it's weird how you want porridge as soon as it's cold - I've just made mine for tomorrow!
